Outback
After we left Adelaide we went to the Flinders Ranges National Park and camped there for a night. We saw lots of kangaroos and emus there and camping there was great. From there we made our way north into the outback and stayed at an extremely small place at another camping ground. Driving through the outback was great. There just nothing out there, the road goes on forever and the road trains passing are huge.
Yesterday we arrived in Coober Pedy, the "opal capital of the world." We saw a few underground houses and did a tour through an opal mine. When we wanted to go back to the camping ground we stopped to take a picture, and afterwards our car didn't want to start anymore. A few friendly miners stopped for us and they tried different things for a hour. In the end they gave up and we stayed with them overnight and brought the car to a mechanic this morning. He said it's a minor electrical part the is broken, but we still have to wait for the part to arrive. It should be there tomorrow morning and we can hopefully continue on to Alice Springs then.
It's a bit frustrating to be stuck here, but I'm just glad the car broke down here in town instead of in the middle of nowhere.
