Schmidteinander

While eating breakfast yesterday my new flatmate Ulli asked me if I wanted to join him going to the Ku'damm to shop around and see the city for a bit. As I didn't have any plans yet I said yes and we had a look at the KaDeWe and some other shops together. Ulli also had tickets to see Harald Schmidt (famous German late night talker, actor and comedian for those of you who are not that familiar with the German scene) and asked me if I wanted to come along as well. So I changed my plans for the evening and we went to the Berliner Ensemble in the evening to see Schmidt's show "Elvis lebt - und Schmidt kann es beweisen." In an extremely eclectic mix of songs, comedy and reminiscences he covered Elvis, Baader-Meinhof and his time at drama school. Not everything worked for me but occasionally he was brilliant and always entertaining.
After the show we went back to Prenzlberg and had a few beers at a nice bar we discovered.
