going to China

I will finally leave Korea today after having spent 3 weeks here. I will take the overnight ferry over to Tianjin in China and then go to Beijing, which should only take an hour or so. My plan is to spend a week or so in Beijing, see the sight and go to the Great Wall. I'm really eager to see another Asian country and compare the people, food and other things of Japan, Korea and China.

Hey Stefan,

it's still fun reading your blog, and good to hear you're having a great time! But I get "Fernweh" every time I read up on your adventures...
I was in Beijing two years ago, and had a very good time. Don't miss out on the night life around hou hai lake, they have some great bars there! And be sure to go to the "lao she" tea house. It's pretty famous, you can even see pictures of Helmut Kohl in the lobby :)
You should book one of the evening shows, they're about 10 Euros, but totally worth it as you get to see tons of performances from different parts of China (including Peking Opera, too).
Have fun!
