Oscars
I was looking forward to the Oscars yesterday and wanted to stay up and see the show on TV. But as I had to find out, the only way to see them here in the UK is to pay for them on Sky. :/ (We have Virgin digital cable here in the house and the only thing I could watch was the red carpet.)
As always, I had tried to watch as many of the nominated movies as possible and have seen them pretty much all apart from There Will Be Blood. I had cast my votes online here and got 14 out of 24 right (including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Directing, and more)! Not bad at all! :)
But I think this year it was pretty predictable. The Baftas were already quite similar and it was pretty clear that No Coutry for Old Men and There Will Be Blood would each get a good share of the awards. The only surprise to me was that The Golden Compass won Best Visual Effects instead of Transformers.
