Kona

This morning Christoph and I got up early to go on a snorkeling cruise. We went over to the marina and went on this small catamaran that took us to a nice spot at the coast nearby. The boat fit around 20 people and the spot was really great. The water was crystal clear and you could see about 30 feet down. There was a cool reef and tons of different fish. I really wish I would have had a waterproof camera. (Everyone else seemed to have one.) We were snorkeling there for a hour and then headed out to see and then back to the marina. We were hoping to see some whales and dolphins as well, but they didn't show up that day. I saw another whale off the coast later though.
In the afternoon, Christoph and I went to a great beach and stayed there for a while. It was really beautiful, right out off a postcard. We also found a turtle lying in the sand there and I took some pictures.
Christian had to take a flight back to Honolulu later that day and I was planning to go over to Hilo. Unfortunately, there are virtually no buses on the Big Island and no other way on transportation. So I prepared a sign and started hitchhiking. But it was probably too late that day and nobody wanted to give me a ride. I was waiting there for 2 hours before finally giving up. I went back to the hostel we stayed the night before but they were already fully booked. I was ready to sleep at the beach when I remembered to check couchsurfing.com and I actually found someone right around the corner from the hostel. I was really glad I could spend the night there and the people were really nice.
