Uluru

I just came back from my trip to Ayers Rock (Uluru), King's Canyon and the Olgas. I booked the tour through the hostel and it was a really great group. We camped out in the bush and had heaps of fun together.
I climbed Ayers Rock, saw sunset and sunrise there and did some amazing hikes.
We started very early on Saturday morning (I had to get up at 5am again). We drove out to King's Canyon, which took us about 5 hours. At the canyon we hiked along the ring and went down into the "garden of eden" inside. Down there we went swimming in one of the pools. After this we went camping in the outback. We had swags, a kind of mattress and cover that are rolled up. We made a nice campfire and enjoyed our night out there. It was pretty cold though during the night.
The next morning we drove to Kata Tjuta, the "Olgas", a group of rocks similar to Ayers Rock and hiked for a few hours around there. In the evening we drove to Uluru and me and a few other people climbed the rock very fast. We only had 90 min to do so and really had to rush. We just made it to the highest point and then had to rush back. But the view from up there was really amazing! Back down we went to a "sunset viewing area", had dinner thereĀ“, and watched the sunset. Overnight, we camped in the bush again.
On Monday morning we had to get up at 5 again in order to watch the sunrise at Uluru. We also hiked around the rock in the morning and then headed back to Alice Springs, which took us all afternoon. Back at the hostel our group had a nice dinner together and a few beers. I was really glad to be able to sleep in a bed again and to sleep as long as I liked...

Have a look at all the great pictures!

There were some letters for you from the tax agency. Your refund should already be in your account here.
