JAPAN!!!
I arrived in Osaka yesterday, after a 10 hour flight from Sydney. I had some minor problems at the airport first because I didn't have a return ticket. Japanese immigration requires a prove that you plan to leave the country and I couldn't buy a ticket for the ferry to South Korea anywhere... :/ So Jetstar didn't let me check in until I bought an extra return ticket. Because my credit card is maxed out at the moment I had to get some cash first and was then able to buy a fully refundable ticket from Quantas. I have to go back to the airport now and get my money back at their office. Last night I didn't have the time to do that because my flight was 40 minutes late and I had to rush to catch the last bus.
I finally met Carp, my couchsurfing host, some time after midnight and we went back to his place. There are 2 nice Scottish girls staying there as well and we will probably do some sightseeing together. (It might even work out that we will climb Mt.Fuji together and we take the same ferry over to South Korea.)
Japan seems nice so far. Everything is smaller. People are generally quite friendly but most don't speak a lot of English. (I might go to a free Japanese lesson tonight to learn a bit more Japanese!)
