Christmas party

Today was the official company Christmas party for senior staff (there's going to be another one for the QA department next Monday). We could all leave earlier and went over to this place near Westminster where they had rented the penthouse function room. It had a spectacular view of London, with Big Ben and the London Eye close by. We had a band who you could sing karaoke with and there were some good and some rather bad singers (especially after some people had a few more drinks). The CEO opened with a special Christmas song with custom lyrics and our QA manager did a pretty good song later. There was also a Sonic ice stature that doubled as an ice luge, meaning you could drink vodka from his boot that ran through a canal in the statue. (I was forced to do it as well.) I didn't know most of the people but I was glad for a few familiar faces so that the evening was actually rather nice. I left in time for the last tube home and was almost marooned in West Brompton as I took the wrong branch. Luckily I made it until Acton Town and then had to walk from there.
