Die Nacht, die Lichter

Through a friend I heard about a reading by Clemens Meyer today. I recently read his novel "Als wir träumten" and liked it a lot, so I was really surprised to see him come to Rostock right when I was here. We managed to get tickets and even got seats in the front row (almost). The was was quite small and it was packed! Clemens Meyer read from his latest short story collection, for which he recently received the Leipzig book fair award. He is only a year older than me and seemed to be a really nice guy, funny, humble and with a passion for literature. He read only 1 and a half stories, but these were quite nice and well presented. Afterwards there was a short Q&A session as well.
By the way, there would be a reading by Michael Chabon in Hamburg tomorrow, but unfortunately I can't go... :/
After the reading we had a beer at the nearby Likörfabrik and later on I went to the ST where I heard would be a FANAM (English department) party. It was nice to be at the club again where I have been going for 10 years now but I didn't know a soul. So we basically talked about old times and made fun of the freshmen.
