Josh Ritter


This evening I went to see Rosh Ritter in concert at the Showbox here in Seattle. The venue was nice and big, and the front had seating, which was a bit unusual for me but made sense for this show. I was there early and saw the opener "The Submarines" before Josh entered the stage at about 10. The lighting was subdued and he was the only one on stage. He talked a lot during songs, which I really liked. The atmosphere was really quit as the audience breathed in every word. For one song Josh had the stage lights switched off, so he sang in the dark, and during some songs he moved away from the microphone. He played all the hits and favorites, as well as some covers. In the end he came out for an encore and sang a great a capella farewell song.
