rainy day

Today I was planning to get up early again and check the hostel for people going on a day trip. But when I woke up, it was raining. I slept a bit longer then, but the rain didn't stop. I still went to the hostel a bit later, but nobody was there anymore. Therefore I went on a walk around town, to the King Kamehameha statue, down to the beach, to the Japanese garden, and the Banyan tree road. I had lunch at a local diner and went back to the house afterwards.
Let me tell you something about Hawaiian food. A popular Hawaiian meal is a plate lunch, which usually consists of meat or fish and rice. The other day I had a Bento plate, which usually consist of pork, beef, fish, spam and rice (and, not or). Hawaii is the largest consumer of spam in the US! Today I tried Loco Moco, which is a piece of meat or fish with a fried egg on top, gravy and rice. (I had the Mahi Mahi loco. Mahi Mahi is a delicious local fish.) As you can see, Hawaiian food is not very healthy.
