going to Kyoto
This afternoon we took the train from Osaka to Kyoto where we will stay for a few days. Kyoto is the old capital of Japan and has the highest density of temples and shrines in the country. The weather is mixed, yesterday was rainy again and today is overcast.
Last night we went out to Dotombori in Osaka to see some neon in the rain (see picture). We had dinner at a Mexican place and had great fun. At one bar a few Japanese kids tried to talk to us and it was just so funny to communicate. Anna speaks some Japanese (after spending 9 month in Japan teaching English) so she more or less had to translate. I'm learning a few phrases bit by bit, but it's really hard to remember words that don't resemble any other language I ever learned...
