Noko

After we talked about photography until late last night, me and me couchsurfing host Peter got up late this morning and waited for Anna (the one Scottish girl) to arrive around noon. We picked her up from the subway station and had a nice breakfast together will fresh blackberry jam that Peter made himself yesterday.
Anna already had a reservation for the ferry to Korea tomorrow and so I called the ferry company to get a reservation as well. I then found out that a) the ferry leaves at 12:30 and not late afternoon, b) it does not go overnight, c) it only takes 5 hours, and d) the ferry for tomorrow was sold out. So I got a reservation for the ferry on Thursday. It doesn't really matter which day I'm going, specially since I'm going to arrive at the same day anyway (since the ferry doesn't go overnight and arrives on the same day).
Because it was a nice day we then went into the city and took a ferry over to a small island called Noko. Peter brought a ton of photo equipment: 3 cameras, one small, one medium, and one large format. We walked around the island for a bit, had a nice little snack a a beautiful cafe and generally had a great day.
After we went back to Fukuoka in the evening we went to an izakaya and had a nice dinner and quite a few beers. We also invited a French guy to this who we met on the island. We had some really nice discussions and it was just great to have an Englishman, a Scot, a French and a German together.
