Waimea Canyon

Today I hitched my way to the other side of the island and then up to Waimea Canyon. They call it the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific", and although I haven't seen the Grand Canyon yet, it looked really impressive. The weather was sunny again today, but that's probably because I was on the dry side of the island. I went to several viewpoints in the park and also hiked a short way to the top of a waterfall. My foot already felt a lot better this morning and I hope by tomorrow it will be back to normal.
Back in Kapa'a I went swimming at the beach before it got dark. Tomorrow morning I will fly back to Honolulu and on Thursday I will leave Hawaii for Australia.
